Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse on this Sunday of the Memorial Day weekend. May we all be worthy to be remembered as those who served with honor.
I picked this one to head up my response because I seem to keep hearing from those who feel they don't count/don't matter because of PTSD, TBI, uncaring or unsympathetic people or sometimes what is even worse, they feel ignored or unseen.
You have successfully weathered the storm. You may be battered and bruised but you are still here and worthy of all the good things the Lord has in mind for you. If someone doesn't understand that, you need to find your brothers and sisters who do and join up with us. We know and appreciate your sacrifice and we see your "worth" even on the days when you do not.

Lt Col Charlie Brown, achieving the rank of a GO used to be my dream. Then, I awoke from my sleep only to realize that I was merely a lieutenant; the glorified private. Hahaha - LoL.

Those may have not been worthy (lol), but you certainly are 1SG Steven Imerman - thank you brother...

“As we head into Memorial Day all of those great ‘warriors’ that served before us were worthy and we will pay respects and honor them tomorrow. The many veterans with us today are also worthy of the sacrifices they’ve made to serve with nation without reservation. There value will never decrease and that leads me to this important quote…

‘Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s in ability to see your worth.’ — Unknown Author

May you continue to be worthy and receive all the blessings that make you unique and thankful; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy.” – COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

I expect that are generally well-disciplined, ambitious, and a self-starter. No doubt those who look to you for leadership, advice and practical demonstration of servant leadership are inspired to emulate the positive aspects of your leadership. I hope and pray that you and I are blessed by the LORD to be worthy of emulation as mature examples of disciples of the LORD. ‘Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?’ [Luke 14:27-28 ESV] my brother-in-Christ 1SG Steven Imerman.

I lift the spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins of service members who were killed or died as a result of service in the military to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless each grieving the death of service members with a peaceful and restful night. Enable them to remember the pleasant times with joy and I pray that YOU bless them with sufficient joy to enable them to grieve to the point they remember the bad times including notification of death or viewing, identifying remains, and burying the remains of the dead, with no emotional baggage attached. Enable each of us to have clear memories of the loved ones with joy and no bitterness. 'For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes.’ [Psalm 30:5 ESV]
I lift the spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins of service members declared missing in action to YOU LORD. YOU alone know what happened to each MIA and where their remains are located. I pray that YOU bless those dedicated professionals and volunteers searching for remains with discernment, endurance, patience and favor as they search in former and current enemy territory. I pray that YOU bless each grieving individual with hope in YOU, endurance in doing good, comfort and fellowship as they await news of their missing loved ones. I pray that YOU enable the majority to learn what happened to each and to see evidence of the deceased’s remains including any personal effects recovered. ‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.’ [Romans 15:13-14 ESV]
LORD, YOU make it clear in YOUR Word that YOU honor Memorial Days. YOU established Passover as a Memorial Day to be celebrated as a day to be prepared.
a. ‘This day shall be for you a Memorial Day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the LORD; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast. … And you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore, you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as a statute forever. And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the LORD’s Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” And the people bowed their heads and worshiped. [Exodus 12:14; 17; 26-27 ESV]
b. You directed Joshua to instruct the remnant of Israel to take unhewn stones from the Jordan River to build a memorial for the descendants of Israel forever: ‘And Joshua said to them, “Pass on before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up each of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.” [Joshua 4:5-7 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Sunday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Monday, Memorial Day morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “Sunday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse from the still rainy skies of the Greater Boston area with a cool temperature of 50° and a brisk NE wind at 18 mph..., so not the best Memorial Day weekend weather this year...

Today is: “Worthy Day!” Why Not?

"Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact." - William James

“It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being.” - John Joseph Powell

"Each day, focus your attention on what you want. Each day, take one step that will bring you closer to it. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! The key is to identify it, claim it for yourself, and believe that you are worthy to have it." - Iyanla Vanzant

"Don't spend most of your time on the voices that don't count, voices that are going to add too little worth to your future. Don't waste time on the shallow and the silly. Tune those voices out and tune in voices that are going to add something to your life." - Jim Rohn

"We must honor our worthiness in order to receive what we want. In our society we are conditioned to believe that we are not worthy, and that it is even selfish to want to be able to attract things into our lives." - Wayne Dyer

As you proceed through life, ask yourself this question...

“What makes a worthy leader? Worthy Leaders focus on the big picture, and inspire, motivate, and create vision. Worthy leaders are self-motivated and in turn motivate and lead others through changing conditions. – Be a worthy leader!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
