Good morning Col Burroughs and Posse. What a timely topic with all the emphasis on being triggered, insulted and overreactive that we are seeing in the news right now.
People are reading others' comments on social media and assuming they are talking about them; sometimes even when they have never met. So much of what is said, is simply out of frustration and has no real intended target.
During the summer camp, many of the kids admit that they make assumptions about others intentions that are not always correct; we address these in our workshops when we discuss communication and how not to jump to conclusions and overreact to a situation that may have nothing to do with you. It behooves all of us to stop "making ourselves the center of the universe" and start looking for more helpful, productive things to do instead.

I expect that your integrity and humility inspires those who depend upon you and others who look to you for leadership and advice. I hope your demonstration of love and selflessness to each one you interact with dispels all doubt that you are worthy of imitating. ‘so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ’ [1 Peter 3:7 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown.

LORD I pray for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit for each one of YOUR adopted sons and daughters. Let YOUR light and love shine through us to bless our neighbors, family members and others we interact with. Cleanse us of any impurity which clouds YOUR light from shining. ‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.’ [Psalm 51:10-11 ESV]
I lift those who are afflicted with mental disease, TBI, PTSD, cancers, and seemingly incurable illness and injuries to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU infuse hope into each one and those who love and care for them. I pray that YOU heal most though your design of us, medicine, surgery and sovereignly dear LORD. Thankfully YOU heal each and every one of us of from sin and the just penalty for sin. ‘He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.’ [2 Peter 2:24-25 ESV]
I pray for those who are fear for their lives and the life and health of those they love from violence and illness. YOUR love for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters is overwhelmingly magnificent and all encompassing. ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.’ [1 John 4:18 ESV]
I pray for an outpouring of love, compassion, and mercy for homeless veterans, evicted families, widows, widowers, the unemployed and each of those who are on the outskirts of society. LORD I pray that YOU each of us to help as best we can each and every one in desperate need. ‘Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.’ [Romans 12:10-11 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Monday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Tuesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Good “Monday!” Morning “Burroughs’ Posse Leader from the warming skies of SW Florida... Love your message choice and quote, today, Mikel... More to follow!

It is: “Taking Things Personally Day!” It makes a difference in how one reacts to different situations...

MY PERSONAL QUOTE:
"When one takes things personally in life, those things, those people, drain the very strength, character, thought, and personality of your being. Retaining your calmness in the face of adversity frees one to handle any difficulty." - Kerry F. Harkins, March 22, 2021

"I always cheer up immensely if an attack is particularly wounding because I think, well, if they attack one personally, it means they have not a single political argument left." - Margaret Thatcher

"When you let it get personal, the cost becomes personal too. You’re opening your own heart here. You sure you want to do that?” ― Michael Marshall Smith

"Don't Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering." - Don Miguel Ruiz

Take note below about Leaders...

“Don’t take things so personally as a leader. It looks like you believe you’re the center of everyone’s else’s world and you’re not! You’ll mess up you head, your heart, and create an emotional roller coaster!” You can care deeply, and you can take ownership of your responsibilities, but don’t let your personal emotions cloud your judgment.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
