Ha, ha my friend PO1 Kevin Dougherty In 1973 I turned down an offer to attend USNA Annapolis and opted to enlist in the U.S. Army. I reason I didn't opt for USNA is I had no desire to be out in the ocean :-)
In 1976 a Congressman nominated me for USMA West Point. While there I attended survival swimming. I graduated in may 1980. Over the decades I have worked alongside soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen and am proud to have served with each.

A Sailor also knows that the USMC is Part of the Navy :)
