A congressional candidate running against a Muslim senator has had her twitter account permanently suspended after calling for her opponent to be executed for treason.

So this is actually in my Congressional District, so maybe a local perspective will help.
Omar is not well-liked in her district, and is vulnerable in a competitive primary. Her views have pissed off a lot of core constituencies. This had made an opening for some pretty colorful challengers. The Green and Socialist party challengers coming at Omar from the left are some real interesting cats.
Over on the GOP side, there are four real challengers. Ms Stella here is maybe about third in the horse race for the nod, but it should be noted that the GOP only got 22% of the vote last cycle. This is the bluest district in the state, and it isn't even close. So while old girl saying crazy things (to get attention when she's being crowded out) makes good copy, she is not even close to a serious candidate.
Fun fact: she's on the radar of the Minneapolis Police Department for felony shoplifting from Target.

I'm afraid it is a fool's errand to try and win MN-5 as anything other than a Democrat. And the anointed Democrat at that.
My wife and I were just talking about the possibility of running for office, ironically enough.
If I were to personally deconstruct what I'd have to offer, it would be that my technical skills for administration and delivery of essential services are superb. My people skills are more along the lines of persuasion - also useful as a candidate. But I think I would do better as a commissioner or technical position than an elected one. But yes, I have considered it.

You ARE exactly what people need and want in these tumultuous times. With your military background, corisma and drive, you my friend, are a natural hero and winner. Test the waters, get a feel from the people in your District and roll with the sentiment. If you don't, you will probably regret it for a long time. Win or lose, you would be a winner for following your inner vibes. People need someone positive and I have a feeling you can deliver what people need. Wow. They would suspend her account for that. But Twitter won't suspend Omar's account for all her anti-semitism. Hypocrites.

Free speech is free speech. If the people in her district don't like it, they won't vote for her. It certainly seems like anytime someone on the right tweets something bad, there is an immediate banning. The vitriol from leftist pols is never banned.

There are already existing exceptions to free speech. Twitter is also a privately owned platform and suspension was based on violating its terms of use
