Kroger Closes Stores Rather Than Pay More to Workers
Remember when people were happy to have a job during this pandemic? The city of Seattle passed a $4 an hour hazard pay mandate for grocery workers. Since Kroger is in the business of making a profit, they would do better shutting down stores (Washington Post). Bernie Sanders, who appears to have no understanding of how economics works, called this “the height of corporate greed” (Twitter).

Just wait for the $15 per hour minimum kicks in, estimated 1.3 million job loss. If you are not making a profit, you go out of business. Low income workers lose when these type jobs go away.

The fact is that everyone loses, the minimum wage goes up, businesses have to raise prices to stay afloat, everybody pays, and nobody gains a dam thing.

Bernie and his ideas are dumb. Saettle is dumb as well, $4 hazard pay? Wonder how the city will react when more businesses close after the $15 per hour labor cost law goes into affect.

Let them starve, if they are this stupid. It will not only close current businesses, it will prevent new businesses from opening, until the city is just a grim reminder of how brain dead these people are.
