Been noticing a lot of High Tech Job offers in the North East and CA recently, does that mean all the tech heads and nerds are moving to the South?

They're moving to the south for more affordable living conditions its good for them and good for state revenues. It could be bad however due to possibly bringing their progressive way of life with them which means possibly in a decades time the south could look like the west coast.

Mixing some progressive ideas in with all the "Southern" ways of thinking may be a good thing. IMO...

SGT (Join to see) Could be or could not be. I've got no issues with some progressive ideas. It's an oxymoron because a number of people in the south don't like some of what they see on the west coast but are using that southern charm to welcome them.

The pandemic forced employers into "work at home" acceptance. Many employees found that to their advantage. No lost time and no expense for commuting to the office. Employers might be happy thinking of reduced cost for office space.
"Home" could easily be anyplace in the world, thanks to the internet. Going on vacation? Take your laptop and spend a few hours keeping up with your job.

I'm already doing this now. Not checking working when i take a day off here and there but many employers want to stay remote or at the very least downsize to a smaller office and have what we call "Hot seats. Where two co workers share the same desk. I get it Monday and Wednesday and you get it Tuesday and Thursday or vice versa. Some places are putting a mile radius in place of the office mine is 150 mile radius.

PFC (Join to see) - It wasn't so terribly long ago that I had a boss who was dead-set against flex-time. I also worked for a manufacturing corporation that stressed every employee had to be punctual. A holdover from the days when "If everybody isn't here on time, the production line is disrupted".

CW3 Harvey K. None of this would have happened if not for the covid-19 pandemic many companies who weren't sure or didn't want to telework were now forced. Now they've seen the benefits and draw backs to it

PFC (Join to see) - Yep. I'm sure there are many "managers" who fear they will lose control over their subordinates, but are hard pressed to rationalize ignoring the benefits to all that are possible through technology.
