A racism white gunman was charged with killing eight people at three Atlanta-area massage parlors in an attack that sent terror through the Asian American community, which has increasingly been targeted during the coronavirus pandemic.

A day after the shootings, investigators were trying to unravel what might have compelled 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long to commit the worst mass killing in the US in almost two years.

Long told police that Tuesday's attack was not racially motivated. He claimed to have a "sex addiction," and authorities said he apparently lashed out at what he saw as sources of temptation. But those statements spurred outrage and widespread skepticism given the locations and that six of the eight victims were women of Asian descent.

When I first read the article about the attack my first guess was that it wasn't racially motivated but sexually motivated. My first impression was that the attacker was attacking "Happy Ending" massage parlors because he was an Incel. For those who don't know what an Incel is, it is someone who is Involuntarily Celibate. This is a group of men who are angry at women for rejecting them. It's an extremely toxic sub culture that emphasizes extreme violence against women, rape, torture, and sexual slavery. They generally believe that women owe them sex and are angry about being constantly rejected. I'm sure if this person had been in Las Vegas instead of Georgia it would have been prostitutes he targeted

I am scratching my head over how someone can be considered of sound mind and body after killing so many people. And if the do have a mental issue can they be considered a racist since they are not acting rationally? A rather interesting side discussion I would think given these events.

He's my straight answer the gunman had issues and its his fault or those around him for not checking him into a pychyatic ward or getting help now is that an excuse for what he did? No not by many means he must be charged with a hate crime and murder. He'd better to be locked up in solitary than general population. The guy is a danger to himself and those around him. We've seen an increase in every single time of crime within the last year since covid started. Some have been racial motivated others have not. Within my city of Philadelphia were not even a full three months into the year and we already 104 homicides to date. This year is set to be just as ugly as last year and uglier in other retrospect than last. No matter what we do as a nation racism or discrimination will never go away. Hate breeds hate. All the hate crimes white people are committing can and will create hatred towards white from other ethnic groups. The cycle will continue we can address events like these all we want no matter how much legislation is passed no matter how much reform is done you can't change basic human concepts of hate, envy, anger, jealousy. Even if racism is never talked about for centuries to come people will always feel discriminated against in some way people will always hate someone for the color of the skin for some reason. Only in a perfect world can everyone coexist with everyone however; in our world that's not the case we must be taught to have and maintain open minds and open hearts and not harbor hatred. I wish for us all to get along. I wish for these instincts to go away. I wish for us to be better people but when you look at the dawn of mankind to now we've evolved in some ways but not in others. People will always hate each other for all reasons. If not race it's class, if not class its religion, if not religion its sexuality, if not that its personal choices. The cycle will go on and on until some day it's stop. How will it be stopped? Who knows i know i don't. We as Americans are in a unique unlike any other nation in the world. We don't have a humiois language or people or culture like others. When you think of India or of India people you know how to identify them same as Chinese or Japanese or Hispanic or even Greek or Italian people. However us its harder, we are national make up of every people, every culture, every region and every creed. Americans must have the highest tolerance unlike any else and over the last year its been tested and taken to the broken point. When it comes to events such as this every American no matter race gender or age should be able to come together out of common decency and say no this isn't right and we must prevent this from happening ever again.

Excuses are many, yet the max range of any excuse is always zero meters, PFC (Join to see).

Having said it above, unless each case is carefully analyzed, it will be difficult to determine whether the crime was intentional or unintentional. Law enforcement has to do it's job of investigating properly, without prejudice.

CPT Gurinder (Gene) Rana I understand, I was trying to answer your question the best I could about motive or intent, my apologies for not taking into consideration of law enforcement. You are the law whatever it may be at the state level of Georgia must be served along with any federal crimes and pushiments that come with it. The police will most likely old biasim but hope they don't. This will narrow down to the District attorney, judge and defense of the gunman. Between this and the upcoming hearings of Georgia Floyd's murder the next several will be quite tense. All we can do is hope for swift justice on all fronts.
