Will a severe TBI prevent me from going into law enforcement?

I was medically retired from the Army in Jan 2018 due to a severe traumatic brain injury and I have been attending college since fall 2018. I hate sitting in a classroom and having to constantly sit in class for all day for 50 minutes to two hours at a time it actually causes me mental and physical pain to be unable to move and do things.
I was in the Military Police Corps and while I wasn't entirely fond of the army I loved when my company was on the road.
My main concerns are (1) my TBI will prevent me from going back into law enforcement, (2) that I may need to switch my major from a (BA) to a (BS) and it'll make college longer and (3) I am romanizing my time patrolling and I'll have the same mental and physical pain while working.
Thoughts?

The question you should be asking is, will my TBI be a danger to myself or others in the field.

Roger SFC. I've also considered doing EMT. If my TBI is deemed to be to risky I've also considered dispatch. I just miss getting out there and protecting others.

SPC Scott Fleener - Yeah I was away from it for a long while working Corrections. Still wanting to be back out there, I came to work for the State Hospital. It's not trauma (witch is why I have PTSD and stayed away) but it satisfies that void. It's psych but very rewarding.

I'm glad to hear that SFC! I'm defiantly leaning towards working as a cop in a hospital anyway.

TBI isn't necessarily a disqualifying factor for law enforcement; however, when you go through the process, the department will make that determination when you get to the medical review portion. Be as honest as possible on your application, and don't leave that out.

SPC Scott Fleener - Can you function normally without taking any meds? TBI is really just a permanent concussion. I think your PTSD, if you have it, is more of a concern as it would make you overreact in certain situations. But keep trying, it would be good to see someone with a servant's heart back out on the streets.

It can be difficult SGT but other than one medicine I use when I get extreme headaches I don't have any other real major issues other than the ones I mentioned in my orginal post. I do have memory issues but that is getting better and I have little things I do to help. It just takes a more active role on my part.

based on this last response, please consider the situation you are going to put your brothers and sisters in if you go into LE. You could be putting them and yourself in danger!

Definitely don't want to do that SFC! I'm just weighing my options and seeing if there is information I am not thinking of.
