We have all had to write an evaluation form on a subordinate. As leaders we have all had a subordinate that should go do something else. What NCOER/OER bullets have you used or seen that while being funny are just way too sad that they were actually true.
For example I used this once "Displays the military bearing and discipline expected of an IET Private"

Hit rock bottom and started to dig
Soldiers follow him out of pure curiosity
Did not loose any equipment after it was all taken away from him
Consistently sets low standards and then fails to achieve them

It would be in the best interest of the U S Army if LT blank went back home to Texas

"Soldiers follow him out of pure curiosity"---that may be the best one on here. Was that to your knowledge ever actually used?

As an adjutant I saw an OER on an infantry captain where the COL wrote "this officer has not commanded a company and does not seek to command. He displays none of the initiative or drive expected of a combat arms officer. Recommend retention in grade "

He never actually made it to the Major's board. The OER triggered a review and he was out in 90 days.

As far as funny/joke lines, one that went around for your last OER was "i can conceive of no national emergency so dire as to warrant this officer's return to active duty"

Why'd they hate him so much? Did he tell a joke a 1st Sergeant didn't like?

That is actually a pretty dispassionate and spot on assessment of somebody who won’t command. Truth is we don’t need him, and the OER reflected that.

In List 3 position the NCO might best fit I put "Civilian"

Sounds like the typical rating from the AHIC. Never appreciated the senior NCO's that thought they were the best the military had and anyone else was subpar unless they licked their boots.

Simple ...ask a dumb question you get a dumb answer. One I remember well. Ask SNCO for two hours off early to drop a fellow Marine off at Airport. SNCO said isn’t your obligation to the Corps? Of course it was I enlisted didn’t I. Wasn’t necessary question. I responded with a dumber answer. “ My obligation is to get out of the Corps.” He was besides himself. Office hours 1 week restriction.

Went to see Navy Doctor was Honorably medically discharged, because of service related injury 2 days later. Obligation full-filled.
