Empower each of us to stand firm to face the challenges that we and our loved ones will go through this year with grace and to demonstrate our faith in YOU and YOUR Word. By YOUR grace, YOU prepare us by sanctifying our soul through challenges, blessings, trials and circumstances. 'Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.’ [Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV]
I lift YOUR adopted sons and daughters who are infirm, indecisive, timid, afraid of hurting others on the basis of past experience, and/or those suffering from PTSD and similar afflictions to YOU dear LORD. I pray that YOU bless each of these with sufficient moral courage, a firm foundation in the faith, and confidence that YOU will work through their/our weaknesses to YOUR glory. Thank YOU for the defensive armor of God and the offensive Sword of the Spirit the Word of God which YOU store in our soul. 'Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.' [Ephesians 6:13 ESV]
