Good morning Col Burroughs. Nice to be back. It was a long but fruitful day at the hospital yesterday and fortunately all is well.
Keeping an open mind is harder than you think. So often we let our prejudices or preconceived notions get in the way of seeing what is (or just as importantly, is not) right in front of us! We've seen this in science, in political decisions and in our relationships as well. It is so important that if you are trying to figure out what's true, you don't decide that ahead of time. Ask the question and see where the evidence leads you.

Open minds take practice. We all fail sometimes but that doesn't mean we quit trying. Thanks for the kind words today

I expect that your openness to new ideas and willingness to treat people with opposing viewpoints with respect has stood you in good stead. I hope your firm foundation in character and your courage of convictions has increased along with the respect of others. I pray that we demonstrate love as we share truth or our perspective. ‘Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. [Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV] my sister-in-Christ GySgt Thomas Vick.

I pray that the LORD blesses each one of HIS adopted sons and daughters with a significant measure of wisdom and discernment during these challenging times. Thank YOU, Holy Spirit for dwelling with the soul of each of us and guiding us day-by-day and hour-by-hour. I pray that YOU give each of us eyes to see and ears to hear what we need to know as we are exposed to new approaches and concepts. Help us to stand firm on the rock of truth. ‘Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents.’ [Philippians 1:27-28 ESV]
I pray that parents demonstrate love respect to each person we interact with and that children observe and take note that each human being is worthy of our respect. I pray that parents encourage their children to explore new ideas, approaches and ideas for inventions from serious to frivolous. I pray that love is increasing in families of the body of Christ and our neighbors in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, France, Israel, Egypt, India, Korea, Japan, Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. ‘Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.’ [Romans 12: 9-12 ESV]
In these cold and somewhat confusing days, far too many are discouraged as confusing viewpoints are bandied about as truthful about reducing risk of infection, climate change, and assigning motives to criminals, trespassers, protestors, rioters and looters. Help us to love and respect our neighbors. ‘Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. … Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.’ [Ephesians 4:25, 29 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members sleep well Thursday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Friday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

Open minded means you see more, learn more, talk to more people, go more places, and sometimes change your attitudes. It's how adults are.

Besides, it's a lot more fun. Have a happy, RallyPoint.

Right on both accounts this morning Jeffrey! Have a great day PO2 (Join to see)...

“Don’t be closed-minded. Be curious and ask questions and try to understand someone else’s perspective. Be open to new possibilities each day. Debates, discussions, and even disagreements here on this forum can be worthwhile, if you have an open mind. As a leader you should be open minded to gain trust, awareness, and listen and learn from the different perspectives of your team. ‘Stay open minded. Things aren’t what they seem to be.’ May you always have an open and positive mind and be flexible to alternative solutions, ideas, and visions; may your mind, body, and soul be opened to grace, goodness, peace, forgiveness, and a continued bountiful life of purpose; and keep your family safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Let your mind be open to every new thing, but never getting to attached or stuck in a rut.” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
