How say you?

I remember this because it was prior to the 2016 election and some very left-wing anti-constitution members of RP were ragging on many conservative members when they posted ... well they didn't even stop with conservatives also went after Libertarians and Democrats. Pretty much they attacked anyone not a leftist radical.

I started blocking the people because when I discovered they weren't interested in discussion but only vitriol. I generally do not call members names as its too easy to simply block them. I considered each case thoroughly, checking their profiles and reviewing their comments in discussions. The main thing was when I saw them doing circular arguments then trashing others peoples opinions, launching personal attacks on the person and then going to their profile to began vindictive attacks on anything that person had posted elsewhere.

I think it was right around the time RallyPoint stopped being a purely military/ex-military site and began to let anyone join. There was an influx of people that when I checked their names on other social media were not nor had ever been associated with military service. We even had one that changed their name (and military branch) but they missed the fact that their new ID retained the influence points (up and down) from the 1st name, which didn't take long since many longtime members twigged to it really quick. Plus several outed themselves by referring to their previous posts by other names - seemed like many of the grousers may have had multiple accounts.

Bear in mind that I saw the admins were removing many of them within weeks but initially the RP membership were like the monitors and didn't catch on. They weren't onsite to discuss but to create dissension and chaos.

The Admins did a good job removing them and the site members have largely recovered. I expect the same kind of attacks the closer we get to the next election. I encourage all members to maintain their respect for other members - but do post away whatever you wish within the standards you agreed to when you originally signed to when joining RallyPoint.

Some people on here really don’t respond when well when you ask them to support their argument

No Problem. I may not agree with everyone, but we should all be professionals.

Noise is noise. I have some good debates on RP, and sometimes learn a thing or two. When someone is just fishing for points, or under the delusion that saying the same thing over and over again will change my mind...I tend to steer clear, or find an exit.

Same here. I don't think I fish for points but at 0330 its quiet on here.
So a lot of time I might answer 3 or 4 posts and later discover I racked up a few.
Field Goal! Whoop! Whoop! ... I meant to say I'm surprised.
