Have you ever lost hope in life?

Is this a freeing experience? An example might be.. It is as you never experienced childhood really, the son of the young returning infamous misunderstood forgotten not so government cared for strong, surely loving conflicted Vietnam Infantry Soldier, and then your own Service left you listless, and then the VA, and 1 day as adult comprehending if you ever felt really cared for at all and what that feeling might be like for your heart as you spend another Thanksgiving, basically alone and you did not celebrate your own birthday again and again and again and again and again..a repetitive state of affairs.. you wish to break

SFC-

I had to take a step away after writing that. But well, I anticipate another morning where I wake up lonely in a fog wondering how things got this way. I am 42. Navy Changed me left me banged up confused and patriotic at the same time. Then I found out after service my actual missing dad was still alive and was a Vietnam era army infantry vet (who the va deemed needed a fiduciary and explained why my childhood was mostly foggy moving around a lot with no VA dependent support for my mom although she surely qualified). I found out through my dad my grandpa was a ww2 Navy Combat Vet. The list goes on. Then I went to the VA finally in a desperate place, hoping for quick help, with all the evidence needed for service connected support, to get out of a abusive landlord living situation because I was jobless in poverty, and the doctors diagnosed me heavy meds, and diagnosed me with Schizoprenia even. The VA benefits took years and it had to go all the way to washington DC even, which took years, as my nervous system became overwhelmed, and since then it has been all attempts and putting myself back together. I thought a girl might honor this circumstance. I wish my heart was more understood.

Im the grandson son of veterans and a veteran myself and I had to wait and experience a dark place. The VA really has tested me in ways I could of never fathomed in wait while I was so messed up that you think that I would of been treated like a patriot and a friend and protected instantly.
