France: No Shopping, Restaurants or Travel for Unvaccinated

A dream come true for Democrats. And they are suspending health care workers (former heroes) who don’t get vaccinated.

Thank you my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown for making us aware that "French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday announced that the COVID-19 vaccine would be mandatory for all health workers and those working in long-term care homes."

France makes COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for all health professionals
French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday announced that the COVID-19 vaccine would be mandatory for all health workers and those working in long-term care homes.
Macron also said anyone wanting to travel by train, bus or air, or access a number of venues, including cinemas, amusement parks and concerts would have to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.
Unveiling sweeping new measures intended to combat a surge in infections, Macron said vaccination would not be mandatory for the general public, but encouraged everyone to get their shot.
France has gone from an average of more than 400,000 first injections per day at the end of May to about 165,000 per day. Some 53.1 per cent have had a single dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 40.6 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Surging Delta variant: France and Greece introduce mandatory vaccinations for healthcare workers
France and Greece are introducing mandatory vaccinations for healthcare workers in a bid to tackle increasing coronavirus infection rates. On Monday Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis ordered all staff in hospitals and retirement homes to book an appointment before mid-August, saying: "The country is not going to close down because of the attitude of some people." In France, President Macron has announced a September deadline for a medical workers to be inoculated. And he said the option of a compulsory vaccination for every citizen is also on the table.

While many areas of Germany continue to roll back restrictions amid low case numbers, the incidence rate for the country rose for the fifth day in a row. Germany's public health body, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), reported 745 new domestic cases on Sunday and six more confirmed deaths. However, the incidence rate — the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants over a seven-day period — rose for a fifth day in a row, coming in at 6.2 compared to 5.8 on Saturday. While the figure remains low, the slight rise in cases comes amid concerns about the spread of the delta variant.

Travelers from Spain now face tougher restrictions when entering Germany after Berlin labeled it a COVID risk area. Starting Sunday, travelers will need to present a negative test or proof of vaccination or recover if they want to avoid quarantine.

A vaccine that is so great you have to be forced to take it.
Makes perfect sense.

Sgt (Join to see) Well the government doesn't mandate the vaccine for anyone as you imply. It is recommended and available for everyone including illegal aliens. I also believe I said it isn't any of my business. Look you're not going to change your mind and neither will I. However, apparently unlike you, I care about all fellow inhabitants of the US.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - I'm not implying they are. I'm implying that they're trying to make it mandatory.
And why are you being a dick and saying "unlike you?"

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Well then, I guess that just goes to show that being an officer doesn't mean you're smart.

I don't understand the comment that such a move is "a dream come true" for anyone - and France has had more than 100,000 deaths in this pandemic. It's certainly a difficult public policy question, but it is a question of public (not private) policy. So, is it your position that France should simply allow their healthcare workers to risk virus transmission to uninfected citizens?

This is from Daybreak/SRN. We've (USA) fired our healthcare workers here who refused to get vaccinated. Remember: The vaccine has yet to be totally approved by the FDA.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Yes, not sure why we are still under "emergency' authorization after something like 300 million doses administered... so I would agree that "suspending" might be more appropriate than "firing." It's just sad/unfortunate that this is as political as it seems to be. I don't think most people relish firing anyone. For one thing, in a crisis, that's one less teammate you have carrying the load. I'd be interested in those places where people are fired, as to why they refused a vaccine, and also if there weren't other positions that folks could have been transferred to that didn't involve direct contact with the unvaccinated public.

COL John McClellan - I'm curious why the US government is not mandating vaccines for the all illegal immigrants that they're depositing all over the country? Doesn't that go against "the science" they're talking about? The same "science' that said you couldn't go to church, even if you had a mask on, but a BLM rally was okay?
Please explain.
