FYI: On Wednesday I used the VA's Urgent Care program for the first time. An eye problem. I had called My primary clinic first and They told Me to do the Urgent thing. The Provider asked Me which Pharmacy I used. I said Walgreen. Woosh, with the magic of the interwebs My scrip was sitting in the Walgreen inbox. When I picked it up They charged Me $12.30, I didn't have the Urgent Care paperwork with Me at the time and paid it. I took the paperwork with Me this Morning to get a refund and was told that Walgreen does not work with the VA. The way it was stated to Me, it sounded Like Company policy. I went and talked to a Non-Chain local Pharmacy and was told come on down any time. I did not check with Wal-Mart. Walgreen just lost a customer.

I'm going back years, but I had a similar experience with Walgreen not honoring my Tricare Pharmacy coverage. I thought I had heard that they were now affiliated as a supplier in the plan.
As it stands, Express Scripts is good for standing prescriptions that I've been on for years. Anything new, for temporary needs, I get at my independent druggist, with Tricare coverage.

I’ve used Walgreens for years, with Express Scripts. After the second refill you are prompted by Express Scripts to switch to mail order 90-day supply.

Seems strange since Walgreens handles the vouchers for flu shots for reserve and guard members to get their flu shots.
