Mentally ill killer of five people in Calgary can be eased into community: board

I'm not sure this would go ahead in the USA or would it? Everything it seems in the USA is going upside down so maybe this is the trend to the Kinder gentler approach by Progressive Mental Health Providers and the state enabling some freedoms to a mentally ill person?

Recently, a man who decapitated somebody on a bus in Edmonton a decade ago has been released into society. Like I said, Canada is The Proving Ground for Liberal ideas. Carbon taxes are not working in Canada and three provinces are going to the Supreme Court to stop though they're trying to push it in the USA on all fronts including the green New Deal, but I'm wondering if this kind of soft approach by Canada in letting somebody who appeared possessed and who killed five innocent people back into society is the best for society?
