Currently, the Army is the only branch of the military without a national museum - seems a bit crazy, right? Good news though...one is finally coming!

The National Army Museum will be located on over 80 acres at Fort Belvoir, VA, less than 30 minutes south of Washington, D.C. The main building will be massive - about 186,000 square feet. Most of the rare and priceless artifacts that will be on display have NEVER been seen by the American people!

Learn more about what's coming, and check out the amazing design!: http://armyhistory.org/museum-design/

In the new Army museum, if there are at least two tanks, I'll be happy.

At one time the Patton museum at Knox had the best tank displays, but they took some of that stuff to Benning when the moved the Armour school.

This video definitely got me hyped to go visit the museum next time I'm in D.C.

To protect displays--and to highlight a distinctive aspect of the modern Army--instead of velvet ropes or Plexiglas, we should ring displays with reflective PT belts to make absolutely certain the artifacts are safe!

CPT David Gowel - Hmm, I like where you're going with that. Can we get a statue of Chuck Norris (with knife-hand) at the front door?

Sure he was Air Force, but he's...Chuck frickin' Norris...WITH knife hand! It would be the safest building on the planet.

SGT Dave Tracy - Chuck's boots on the ground would provide ample supporting effort firepower in case the drones get hacked, but even a statue of Chuck with a knife would be considered a WMD and we can't just leave that outside on the lawn.

CPT David Gowel - Hmm, didn't think of that. Wouldn't want some kid finding Chuck outside and inadvertently ending the world as we know it.

How about we put him behind a glass display INSIDE the building with a warning banner printed across it reading : "In Case of Emergencies, Break Glass"?

"Like" this whole conversation. The exterior elements are still being planned so I'll pass along the Chuck Norris idea. ;)
