I hadn't heard of that unit or any other Navy chopper unit but then I've never been in the Delta area, or anywhere in 3 or 4 Corps area. I spent most My time in Northern I Corp Da Nang area and do appreciate chopper units being some of the people that saved our butts. When I've seen six to eight Choppers or more opening up, seeing the tracers and rockets fired from them on Viet Cong that were advancing on us and none of them made it I know We owed other guys like them thanks for our survival. Usually the choppers were Army USAF support in our area was mostly AC47 "Spooky" Gunships or F4 Phantoms or in some cases VNAF (Vietnamese Air Force) A1E Sky Raiders.

I don't know if I was lucky or not, being sent to Kadena instead of Viet Nam.
