I know what it means to say goodbye because at an early age of eighteen, I held many of my fellow Marines, my brothers in arms, my friends in my arms in Vietnam and said "Goodbye my Friend.' But even after all those years, I still say Goodbye and one of my hardest was when my mom passed away. I was holding her in my arms and when she let go of that last breath, I kissed her on the forehead and said "Goodbye mom, I love you!" I didn't cry and all I thought was that God gave me a gift, a miracle if you will, because my mom was holding me when I came into this world and I was holding her when she left. The true Circle of Life!

I have "run into" if you will, so many people who I served with in the Army, that I find 'good-byes' are not called for. I did not say 'good-bye to many of the people who I cared for most, respected most. It is a small world, made smaller by transportation, jobs, and communications. Amazing how one can literly stumble across a person one once served with. I now say, " I will see you later," and let it go at that.
