Thanks for sharing the news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that the U.S. Army has increased special duty pay for drill sergeants, recruiters, and or soldiers serving in the Old Guard’s Caisson Platoon and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
It s interesting that the special duty rate varies from a baseline of $300 up to $375 per month and has milestones such as completing the Advanced Training Program for reciters and getting a recommendation from their battalion commander as prerequisites for the bump up to $375.
It is very interesting that "Soldiers with the recruiter MOS of 79R who are assigned to staff positions are authorized an extra $75 a month." I wonder if airborne qualified soldiers would ever be given some type of extra pay if they were in a staff billet that wasn't an airborne position.

This sounds Like what we Called Pro Pay , Incentive pay and Special Duty Pay 30 years ago before it was done a way with in 1993...
Pro-pay and Special Duty Pay was Paid monthly, Incentive pay was paid on the anniversary of assignment to The Unit...
