From my experience (Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Carter) it just seemed like the Republicans had more respect for the military.

SPC Mike Tierney - People like you likes to think it was all Trump supporters that did the damage, which is no way true. The group was infiltrated by BLM and Antifa that cause most of the damage. You do remember the guy with the horns hat? He is Antifa or supports Antifa since he been imaged at other Antifa riots and you hear others (Antifa) say burn the place down. So SPC, keep living in your little fantasy world of yours.

SSgt Cynthia Hamilton - Only gonna say this once... Stay off the drugs.... I'm a youngster, only entered the US Army in 1986. Served until 2013, since the 80's... HANDS DOWN... the Republican Presidents funded the military and supported us. Every time we received a Democrat president, funding was cut, resulting in my soldiers getting hurt... and often we pulled out of strategic places that we had already paid for in blood... and we had to go back and take them again.. costing us more blood. Not sure if you were upset because of the way you were treated in Viet Nam or what, but you really need to let the anger go. Listen to the 95% of the other veterans here. The Republican presidents have been WAY better for the troops. If you are the ONLY one in a room that doesn't smell corn chips.. and everyone else does... it's probably way past time to powder your feet and change your socks. lol

SFC David Myers feeling a little smug and condescending are you?

Let me explain something to you. You served in an all volunteer military. I served with a drafted military. The Republicans used this concept as a reason to get into more trouble, and take less care of the troops. A puny pay raise which disproportionately goes to the officer class, doesn't cut it. Dems sought to put more money into the VA, where the worst injured wound up.

If more vets here are opposed to my views, it might be that they are from the republican tribe and are more accepting of that dogma. They are a lost tribe right now, wouldn't you agree? Or are you with the insurrectionists?

I have no qualms with the pay raises I have received, accept for the Democrat presidents I have served under... especially Barrack.. but I do understand that our job is to obey the orders of the officers appointed over us. I definitely respect you and all my other brothers and sisters that have taken up the torch and defended our country, our allies and our way of life. You specifically volunteered to serve while others in your generation were drafted. Thank you. Even though you have a obvious dislike for the Republican party, you have to admit that over the last 35 years the military pay and our equipment were modernized or we had better pay increases during the years of the elephants... where my soldiers experienced life changing injuries due to cuts in funding during the Clinton times.... So thankful he did not come to the DMZ in Korea while I was there... I would have lost all my rank after I explained how jacked up he was.

We got good pay raises from Republicans Ford and Reagan. Under Democrats we were lucky to get a cost of living raise that covered inflation. Case in point, Carter.

TSgt James Warfield - I spent 12 months in Vietnam, in the 25th Infantry Division. And, I wasn't a REMF. Read my bio.

Cheers.

I along with about 15 other MP's were on the security detail with the secret service when Carter came to Panama. Very humbled guy, even then

Eh. Bitterly complaining about everything is one of the finest traditions of military service. The only thing that ever changes is who they’re whining about

I was sworn to defend the constitution of the United states, not to get involved in politics. If the contrary, get put of the service and run for office.
