I like this quote as it applies as much to good leadership as it does to good parenting; either way, the ones in charge have to set and hold to standards. It helps to be firm in your values when things get difficult or unclear. Stick to what you know is right. Be firm, be rock solid in your beliefs but flexible in your execution of them.

By YOUR grace YOU prepare us for what we will face through challenges of body, mind & soul; exhortations, and admonitions in YOUR Word. ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.’ [Psalm 23:4-5 ESV]
I lift the police, sheriff’s and federal and state agents through this nation and their family members to YOU LORD. I pray for a significant increase of support for those charged with keeping the peace. I pray that YOU use each of us to demonstrate respect for our neighbors and others we interact with. Help us to be peacemakers and better listeners to not only reduce conflicts but increase good will in the neighborhoods. I pray for a peaceful and enjoyable summer for each of us and those we love. I pray that YOU do what is necessary to dampen tensions in cities. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.’ [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
I pray that you and your family members slept well Tuesday night and will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.
