I'm sure this has been done before, probably several times, but prior to my time here. Anyway, I figure it takes 20 years for a movie to be old enough to truly judge its worth, so I have two questions for the RallyPoint crowd-

What is your favorite military themed or war movie, more than 20 years old?

What is your favorite military themed or war movie, less than 20 years old?

Mine? Cross of Iron (Steiner rocks) and 13 Hours (modern, gritty, real).

1SG Steven Imerman More than 20- way too many to list, but to pick one: The Dirty Dozen; less than 20 American Sniper. I like Lee Marvin- just a badass... Bradley Cooper did a solid job on Chris Kyle. But I thought both captured the spirit of the conflict and people in it. I really don't think there is a wrong answer here.

I also like Cadence and Stripes and Private Benjamin, although for very different reasons!

Green Berets with John Wayne and Hacksaw Ridge. Odd no Navy movie, unless you count Mr. Roberts.
