Here is a musical extra for Rally Point this afternoon. One of Jim Croce's lesser know songs, but one that I really enjoy. Have a great Rally Point afternoon!

Powerful song, too many memories. Just wish he wasn't telling my story too, but he was. Another reality-check....

"Cats" and Age" both hit close to home. Kids from 1st marriage grew up pretty much without me. We were estranged for almost 20 years. Now that we've re-connected things are pretty good but I tell them they turned out great in spite of their parents. Got started on my 2nd family toward the end of my Navy career. My kids weren't awake to hear it one night but I made them a promise that I would always be there. So far I've kept that promise. Now they're about to have kids of their own. Hope I've set a good example for them.

PO1 Robert George I'm glad you have been able to reconnect Brother, because my middle daughter's family even completely painted me out of her life in her obituary last year. It's as though I never existed, except that her two younger siblings both have my last name.

That really sucks! The rest of my family, as in folks and siblings, has very little contact with my 2 oldest. I've managed to get the other three to visit once so they at least know what they look like. I've told all 5 that when I kick the bucket I expect them to get their preferred bottle of booze, sit down together, get drunk and tell stories about me.
