Hello RP friends and community! Last year COL Mikel J. Burroughs was kind enough to help us get a Wellness Wishes page here on RP. We worked with Ryan Callahan who was wonderful, and got the page right up for us!

I want to invite my friends, connections, and future friends & connections to follow our page for the latest in programs, services, initiatives and events we're providing to pay tribute to our nation's heroes.

Thanks for the warm support everyone has given me...I'm truly grateful to be a part of this community!!

ALCON. I wrote a PTSD Paper facilitated by my personal experiences and the tough journey I undertook to healing. Wellness Wishes is kind enough to be a venue for the PTSD Paper. I have a vested interest to help others. It gives me meaning and purpose during my medical retirement. Give the paper a chance. It just might change your paradigm of PTSD and facilitate healing. This is the introduction:

Hello I am MAJ (R) Ken Landgren. I was medically retired with PTSD in 2014. Needless to say it has been a rough 6 years, the first two years were the hardest for me. I don't lament having PTSD now. I see it as an opportunity to help others through my experiences. There have been times when I looked at a veteran in the eyes and said I know how you feel. Empathy and compassion is an imperative in this world, and I think I have that.

I wrote a PTSD paper using my personal experience as a guide. I want to help folks by the strategy of painting the picture. When a commander commits to a battle, it is paramount to "Paint the Picture." The objective is to give you a better understanding and conceptualizing PTSD. The second objective is providing realistic coping skills. This is like how you approach the battlefield. What tactics do you need to employ to win.

I am by no means a medical professional. I am just a person who has PTSD. I can't guarantee I can help you. However, I would like to point out that many people attained a better understanding of PTSD after reading the paper. I am indulging in this endeavor because I want to help. I want to turn lives around. I want to help give your life back to you. I want to take a leadership role because that is what the military has taught me. I want you to accomplish the mission. The vision may be mine, but it is you who I want to cross the finish line. I want to help you win!

Thank you for caring!! Considering that not all PTSD is combat related - would this help us others? :-)

SP5 Jeannie Carle - Absolutely. The cause of PTSD varies largely. My wife got PTSD from a head on car accident. My two main objectives are to educate and provide realistic coping skills regardless of why someone has PTSD.
