Sounds very French. While writing promotional literature, instruction manuals, and technical articles for the photographic industry, I had repeated correspondence from the French Academy of Language complaining about my use of words borrowed from German, Spanish, and other languages as well as [Gasp!] "Americanisms"

Ahhh, the lure of freedom to express ones self shall be stomped out totally!! Sounds similar to some of the cancel culture we hear about in other societies.
