In the past decades of presidential administrations, regardless of the political environnent, the world events, our stand and involvement in crises, America was able to rebound and maintain the respect of the world. But we are in serious misalignment with the world and instead of thinking about this dilemma, we seem to still be spiraling out of control and losing integrity and grace, at the speed of light.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard I think the last four years of disrespect for the office of the President and the lack of Congress (all of Congress) actually doing their job (for the people) and not themselves has left a permanent stain on this country.. It has for me personally - I'm very disappointed in all facets of our government and how representation has become nothing but support for special interest groups that supply all the money for re-elections and power for a few. The normal man or women in this country with a great background could never be President of this country without million of dollars; and we showed are true colors with a billionaire businessman that didn't follow the Washington political machine as normal and the office was disrepected daily for four years, yet he still got some things done, can't say that about Congress. This is my personal belief and opinion... I'm sure others have their own and I respect that, just don't dog my opinion...

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Citizens v. United prevents us from even knowing who is funding it all. It's illegal if it's foreign cash.

The problem, john, is that some people refuse to believe our government is made of humans who aren't infallible and won't cave to a foreign power, or global governance scheme. Foreign welfare, and that is exactly what it is, always comes with strings. I'm not in favor of empire building, i prefer national sovereignty. They need to pay their own way. They are not entitled to the fruits of our labor. Our taxes are meant to improve our country not the leaders of countries who abuse or steal that "aid" and do not contribute to our economy.

Sounds like someone is arguing their politics instead of the facts. The last four years have been a boom for the US unlike the eight years preceding that under Oblameya.

I think in the past, most everyone agreed that the president, regardless of our personal affiliations, should succeed. The current administration has experienced an unprecedented negativeness and a lot of people wanted to see him fail - damn the country. The shared commonalities that used to bind Americans have been relegated to the second tier -- but you really can't have an individualism first mindset if you don't recognize that the common American values allow for that individualism in the first place -- great question

CSM Chuck Stafford - Except that they really didn't. You see it as compromise, I see it as capitulation. I'm not going to argue semantics with you.

SGT Edward Wilcox - Some walk away from the table unhappy they didn't get everything they wanted, others walk away happy that they got some of what they wanted -- we are free to choose our disposition and attitudes

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi I think I missed something, but, I get it. Sometimes we have to take by force when there is no common ground, no compromise, no end in sight. Otherwise, we continue to play the fool on the world stage. Bravo!

I love the question. Just not at all sure of the answer. However, I think it will take a generation to repair...we need to start with the kids in school and take back the education system

Charlie, you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, it’s a train. I hate being a pessimist, and have said our Constitution will eventually right the ship. However, when I hear about packing the SCOTUS, adding two geographical entities as states, along with open borders, I fear for our kids and grandkids future.

This needs to be on the list too, if we care about the future. I'm no economist, but the bank requires me to be in the black if I expect to still write checks. Foreign ownership still means just that. https://www.usdebtclock.org/

Start by outlawing the "Critical Race Theory" and other liberal indoctrination in our school systems.
