The real question is, is he a legitimate target. The answer is yes he is. The kill/assassinate/murder words are just semantics used by people pushing an agenda about who he was and what he represented. He was the head of a designated terrorist organization. He is fair game, period. That is not too hard to understand.

He is not a political target. He is not elected, he is not a head of state or other high official. He is a military man in charge of Quds Force a designated terrorist organization. The writers of this piece are disingenuous at best.

SSG (Join to see) - It's hilarious the reverence the Liberals have for this Iranian. Yet bombing Colonel Khaddify, recognized leader of Libya who actually was military trained was OK and perfectly legal and not an attemptt to kill him. The bombs were intended as flower pots back then I suppose. Later the Obama Administration was complicit in having him overthrown and shot.....that was OK too.

I said from the beginning that he wasn't elected and so it wasn't an assassination. In addition to that he murdered and directed the murder of civilians and that makes him a terrorist

Dr. Martin Luther King wasn't an elected official. He was assassinated.

SrA John Monette - Yes, but No, he was murdered. Same as Malcolm X, and RFK. Thoughts? Press has been fluid with definitions over the years. Arguments abound - such as X's previous affiliation(s) with that movement. Not a recognized Nation always makes a fair answer. Kings and Queens have been above the reach historically, but not all. It happens with Heads of State with repetition. We need cool heads now.

CWO3 (Join to see) - i think assassination occurs when someone high-profile AND influential in policy matters is murdered. i would never include celebrities who are murdered simply for being famous. there has to be a political element

From what I have been reading on multiple news sites this guy commanded troops that have a couple hundred thousand civilian bodies on them from Syria to Yemen. He had more bodies on him than Bin Laden. That makes makes him a terrorist. You don't assassinate a terrorist, you kill him. IMHO

CWO3 (Join to see) - Who was Colonel Khaddfy again? Not a peep from Liberals about bombing him in the 1980's or having him overthrown under Obama. That was perfectly fine. And he was a legit military man with rank not some civilian in military uniform.......even though he was just as crazy as the Ayotollah.
