Climate is important [~850276;3p-security-forces], I give you that, but not the way this organization is going at it! It is about time the Europeans stepped up and started implementing some of the rules we have in the United States to minimize climate problems, waste problems (Plastics for one) and other deleterious agents that affect the air we breathe...and the water we drink! ...and Oh, by the way, and the drugs imported/exported around the world!

We are meeting or exceeding the current Paris Climate Agreement goals. The argument is over the future goals 7-20 years down the road. So not a huge disaster. China was all but excused from meeting any meaningful goals. So hardly a balanced treaty and so if we so choose we can change our minds in less than 7 years and there will be no impact by the United States on the overall goals of this treaty. I don't think we will change our minds however..........at least I hope not as it has never been proven nor is it scientific fact that mankind can control macro climate in any significant way.

Last I saw, there were like 7 countries in the Paris Accords that were even close to meeting their obligations. Countries like Luxembourg and Equatorial Guinea with next to no impact. The big polluters are not even close to meeting targets, and in fact have gotten worse in many cases.

But I guess it is better to hypocritically virtue signal that you care about the environment and do worse, than it is to just do so on your own.
