Retirees: Are you able to return to Active Duty for COVID19 Response?

Excerpt from DFAS delivered email yesterday (I am a retiree. I do not administer this program. I do not have answers to specific questions...call the number)
Army Announces Voluntary Recall of Retired Soldiers for COVID-19 Response
The U.S. Army is reaching out to gauge the interest of our retired officers, noncommissioned officers and Soldiers who would be willing to assist with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic response effort should their skills and expertise be required.

These extraordinary challenges require equally extraordinary solutions and that's why we're turning to you -- trusted professionals capable of operating under constantly changing conditions. When the Nation called -- you answered, and now, that call may come again.

If interested and you remain qualified to serve in any of the following health care specialties: 60F: Critical Care Officer; 60N: Anesthesiologist; 66F: Nurse Anesthetist; 66S: Critical Care Nurse; 66P: Nurse Practitioner; 66T: ER Nurse; 68V: Respiratory Specialist; 68W: Medic - we need to hear from you STAT!

If you are working in a civilian hospital or medical facility, please let us know. We do not want to detract from the current care and treatment you are providing to the Nation.

While this is targeted at medical specialties, if you are interested in re-joining the team and were in a different specialty, let us know your interest.

If interested please contact Human Resources Command, Reserve Personnel Management Directorate, at [login to see] or call [login to see] , and provide your phone number, address, email, and MOS/Branch.

I'm little surprised that 68S is not on there. One of the things Sierra's do is Epidemiology. We could/can certainly assist with interviews/investigations

MSG (Join to see) there are plenty of things we veterans can do. It’s about finding a place and a way to do it.

Morning, sir LTC Jason Mackay I called and sent my info. Calling led to a full voicemail. Still no response from the e-mail. Any advice? I see the Army making strides during this time. What would you recommend as a way to be a medic in the army's active duty at this time?

Just relaying the traffic. Not my circus anymore. Take your DD214 and any relevant paperwork to a recruiter. This program is for retirees

I am 19D/11B but I have also been a CLS while in the service and for contract companies. Additionally I have been in EMS for 8 years since my last contract.
I could do it but since I'm a healthy 65'er, I do fall squarely in the middle of the high risk catagory.

In the dental corps a 63B is a "comprehensive" general dentist. I always forget that we share an MOS/SSI with a logistics specialist. Is a 63B related to supplying fuel?

CPT (Join to see) - 63B was the old MoS for an organizational maintenance wheeled mechanic. It's 91B now.

LTC Jason Mackay - CPT (Join to see) - I have called a dentist but it was for a FOB. My last meeting with 63B's was when they were unit maintenance and recovery operations, but many of our senior mechanics double a supervisor for the refueling.
Ya know ever onces in whiles ya got ta change da names to protect de guilty.
