I’m in the Air Guard and my husband is AF active duty and he’s stationed overseas. I have been unable to move with him, but he is getting cross trained which means he’ll be PSCing back to the states. Does anyone know if we will have any control over what base he goes to? I’m in Ohio, so it would be ideal for him to come here as well but since we can’t apply for joint spouse since I’m guard, we’re not sure what to do. Has anyone dealt with this before, or any suggestions of who we can talk to?

You're in the Guard so you can do an Interstate Transfer to whatever state he does PCS to. Once he gets his PCS orders, contact the IST coordinator for your state and find out how to get the ball rolling. Some times the process can be quick and painless and other times it can be a pain in the butt.

For dual military couple especially you being in the guard co location is super easy. Just talk to your personnel and detailer and request a transfer to the closest reserve unit once your husband has hard copy orders.

A1C (Join to see) - I'm curious as to why you have been unable to move. Is it because of your civilian employment or your Guard status? If it's the later, I don't understand why you can't apply for a transfer to a unit close to your husband. Things may have changed since I retired but I "think" there are options for members to complete their Guard obligations even overseas. Talk to your Personnel folks. They should be able to assist you.
