Happy veterans day to all!
This day has extra special meaning to me. On November 11, 1969 I retired from the Army due to wounds received in Việt Nam. That was 81 days before I was old enough to drink or vote. If retiring in Veterans Day wasn't enough, I was sworn int the Army on the evening of July 3, 1967, arriving at Ft Ord at about midnight. So my first full day in the Army was the Fourth of July. If that doesn't make me a patriotic "true blue nephew of my Uncle Sam," nothing will.

Thank you my friend SGT Robert Pryor for making us aware that on November 11, 1969 I retired from the Army due to wounds received in Việt Nam. That was 81 days before you were old enough to drink or vote. Thanks as well for making us aware that on the evening of July 3, 1967, you were sworn in as a soldier after arriving at Ft Ord at about midnight. Your first full day in the Army was the Fourth of July. 'If that doesn't make me a patriotic "true blue nephew of my Uncle Sam," nothing will.'
By the way I enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 11, 1974.
Happy Veteran's Day eve, one and all.

I'm happy to say I made it thought Vietnam not only without a scratch but never even had as much as a cold. (but then with all the shots We got I think they must have covered every disease known to mankind) I turned 21 while in Vietnam. When i got My retirement Certificate I had 22 years in uniform. Whats interesting on your retirement date being Veteran's day also. Thanks for Your service Sgt Pryor.
