Can you be on a new assignment when you have 11months until ets?

I've recently got a new assignment and my report date is about 5-6 months away from my ets date. Is that possible?

It is happening so of course it's possible.
You need to reenlist to accept the assignment or sign a declination statement

“Needs of the Army” and they can ‘involuntary’ extend you. However, I would consult with SFC (Join to see) as he is an ‘expert’ on Army Regulations!

it's possible. Getting popped over to another local unit/assignment isn't unheard of especially for folks who are pending EAS/ETS. It helps them clear out the folks who aren't in the next training/deployment cycle and allows smaller shops and sections get a boost of manpower where you could be useful for a short term amount of time.
