I was not aware the problem was this big. 55% of immigrant families (I assume legal and illegal are rolled together in this number) are on some form of means-tested benefits. Does California not understand that people make decisions based on their self-interest? Why work when the policies are incentives to NOT work?

Put simply, no they do not, as far as I can tell. CA seems to lead by emotion, not realism. At some point, something is going to give and unfortunately the rest of this country will be carrying them on our backs.

Yes, I'm also worried about your last point. When liberal socialist policies eventually drive cities and states to failure, they will come. Not asking, hat in hand, but violently demanding we turn over whatever stability, wealth, and crime-free neighborhoods we have produced for ourselves.

California's politicians don't care. Those are just more votes to keep them in power. I really hope the state breaks in two.

MSG Mark Million - Those here illegally shouldn't be receiving benefits. The votes that I'm referring to are the "legal" friends and family members.

Let’s not have welfare & too many benefits for rich either. Bankruptcy, pay very little taxes according to income & assets, lawyers & accountants to cover & conceal. Everybody needs to obey conditions, regulations, & laws. Big Tech Bros too!
