The Trump Pandemic

n July 17, President Donald Trump sat for a Fox News interview at the White House. At the time, nearly 140,000 Americans were dead from the novel coronavirus. The interviewer, Chris Wallace, showed Trump a video clip in which Robert Redfield, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warned of a difficult fall and winter ahead. Trump dismissed the warning. He scoffed that experts had misjudged the virus all along. “Everybody thought this summer it would go away,” said Trump. “They used to say the heat, the heat was good for it and it really knocks it out, remember? So they got that one wrong.”

Trump’s account was completely backward. Redfield and other U.S. public health officials had never promised that heat would knock out the virus. In fact, they had cautioned against that assumption. The person who had held out the false promise of a warm-weather reprieve, again and again, was Trump. And he hadn’t gotten the idea from any of his medical advisers. He had gotten it from Xi Jinping, the president of China, in a phone call in February.

Keeping in mind the Constitution; particularly the the 10th Amendment:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

What acts did the President do or not do in relationship to the Pandemic, that were within his Constitutional authority? The power to deal with this pandemic belongs to the Governors. Democrat or Republican they have followed half-step measure that prolong the pandemic and do nothing to bring it to an end. The relationship of Federal Government to the states is NOT senior to subordinate, in any matter EXCEPT in the enumerated powers of the Constitution. Outside of that the states are sovereign unto themselves.

Let's remember that his January closing of the ports of entry to people coming from the Hua Bei province was roundly criticized as racist and xenophobic. Speaker Pelosi even made a special trip to San Francisco's China Town to high light President Trump's "hate."

Correct, and that's what both Slate and PO2 Harold Ashton are trying to point out, how Trump's incompetence and inability to lead has killed tens of thousands of Americans.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Using the term "dark green" just shows that you harbor racism towards blacks, as well as the Hispanics that you have routinely called murderers and rapists in the past. Instead of using the BS cover term of "dark green", why not just say what you actually mean. It's not hiding the fact that you are a racist in this matter.

Hell, one of the photos I showed you was the Umbrella Man, a member of the Aryan Cowboys, a white supremacist prison and street gang. You completely ignore the fact that he was breaking out windows that the "dark green" people which you are so quick to condemn were the ones trying to stop him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIfL59aLGPo

That's right, the white guy ("light green") was damaging property and the black guy ("dark green") was trying to stop him.

That doesn't fit your narrative, does it?

Capt Gregory Prickett - Some Hispanics have committed murder. So, if the shoe fits.
Dark green is used in the Marine Corp as is light green.
I have not ignored some whites breaking windows, As I posted, a majority have been dark green.
Try not to mislead the audience. Your attempt at making the truth what you wish has failed. Try again.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - I'm not trying to mask anything. I'm flat out saying that you are a racist, and you need to quit masking your comments about blacks by referring to them as "dark green." I personally think that your racism is despicable, but you have the right to be racists if you want to be racist, but don't try to mask your views. If that's what you believe, at least have the cajoñes to say so.

And to respond to your comments, aliens in the United States are less likely to commit violent crimes than the inhabitants are. The fact that a small number have committed crimes is not a reason to paint the entire group with that brush, yet that is what you do. The same thing with the blacks and the rioting.
