Good Tuesday morning Kerry. And to me this is what "service" is all about. Doing more! Leading by example and being the first one out there to get the work done. Those of us who served and have now found new ways to serve either in faith or volunteering really understand what this is all about. Do more for your organization, your community, your faith, your family than you can expect to get in return.

No doubt that you demonstrate compassion, care and you do your best to listen well to those who look to you for leadership, advice, friendship and/or love. I hope you and I will continue to share what we learn with those we love and encourage their hopes and dreams. No doubt your enthusiasm, encouragement of those you lead and who place their trust in you, and consistent demonstration of respect for each person you interact with or encounter is an inspiration worthy of emulation. 'So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.’ [Philippians 2:1-4 ESV] my sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown

I pray for discernment, an increased ability to encourage, and ability to listen well for each of YOUR adopted sons and daughters who reads this prayer or hears it dear LORD. I pray that you and I do our best to encourage others in need of encouragement, provide a shoulder to lean on, and/or spend time with those in need of human contact. I hope and pray that the joy of the Lord shines through each of us and that our smile draws joy out from each one the LORD knows needs peace and joy. 'But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.' [1 Thessalonians 5:8-11 ESV]

I pray LORD that YOU bless each adopted son and daughter of God who is a parent, guardian or grandparent with discernment, eyes to see and ears to hear. I am thankful that YOU bless parents with insight to train their children. I pray for attentiveness and discernment for each parent as they raise the bar and encourage their children to meet it, then praise the child and raise the bar again for the training and education of their children – from tricycles, to training wheels to riding bikes; from learning the alphabet, to enunciating, to reading on their own, and increasing the level of what they read. ‘At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’ [Matthew 18:1-4 ESV]

I lift each adopted son and daughter of YOURS to YOU LORD. I pray that YOU bless us with discernment, spontaneity, eagerness to bless others, and abundant joy as we do our best to give pleasant surprises to loved ones and even strangers. I pray for eyes to see and observe and ears to hear and listen to better understand what pleases our loved ones as well as what displeases them. 'Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep' [Romans 12:15 ESV].

I pray that you and your family members sleep well Tuesday night and each will awake refreshed and healthy on Wednesday morning.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ

Thank you my friend and brother-in-Christ Sgt (Join to see) for your diligence in posting our friend, former RallyPoint member emeritus, and brother-in-Christ Colonel Mikel Burroughs VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day for Tuesday, January 24, 2022.

Topic: “Do More Day
My days of physically doing more have passed by. As a young Army officer, young husband, young father, teacher of young children in church, usher and hard worker, I accomplished much with help from those I led as well as those who supported me.
1. To be honest, I think listening well is more important than talking well. I would modify our friend Col Mikel's sentence from "These leaders spend more time talking to understand their people" to 'talking with to understand'
2. I have learned to listen well and learn as much and share as much of what I have learned with family, friends and other seeking advice and compassion.
3. The most difficult thing for each individual to conquer is our own tongue. THE LORD gave us two ears to listen with and a mouth used to eat, drink, supplement breathing, cough and sometimes burp as well as to speak. It is wise to listen well and think before responding. When we feel the most likely to lash out in a retort is an indication that it best to ponder how e should respond if at all. The LORD is always ready to bless us with help - especially in dire straits.

Quotes:
1. Yehuda Berg 'Listening better. Caring more. Being there. Its not big changes, but the little ones in our daily lives that make all the difference. With little ways to love more, big things happen.'
2. Wilma Mankiller - Cherokee Stateman 'America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking'
3. Dolly Parton 'If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.'
4. Edward Hoagland 'Silence is exhilarating at first - as noise is - but there is a sweetness to silence outlasting exhilaration, akin to the sweetness of listening and the velvet of sleep.'
5. Bryant H. McGill 'When we want to talk, we can instead listen, and let our attentiveness to another's need to speak be our silent statement.'

a. Hebrews 3:7-11 ESV 'Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore, I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’
b. 2 Peter 1:5-8 ESV ‘For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
c. Psalm 23:1-6 ESV 'A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.'
d. Philippians 1:9-11 ESV 'And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God'.
e. Ephesians 4:29-30 ESV ‘Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption’
f. Philippians 4:8-9 ESV 'Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.''
g. Romans 12:10-13 ESV 'Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.'
h. 1 Peter 3:8-12 ESV 'Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Could hardly make out the words . It seemed to be in a long tunnel with too much of an English accent singing in light tones. The Rest was late 70's Early 80's synthesizer. Did not compliment well with the higher tones of the lyrics. Like Janice Joplin with ghost blasted horns it was to competitive. The skill was there, just wrong accompaniment.
