What is the best way to go from Army National Guard to active duty Air Force?

Currently Army National Guard wanting to go Air Force Active Duty how can I make this happen?

You simply go to USAF recruiter. Take whatever documents you have showing your current enlistment, schooling etc. Your recruiter once all your basic paper work checks out will contact your unit administrator or AGR NCOIC. They will be told what you are doing, when n where. Unit Cdr or his Rep can sign a Conditional Release Form, CR that allows you freedom to proceed with the enlistment process as though you were not in military. This release is valid for only 90 days, during which you do not have to attend meetings, drills or AT. Whoever at end of 90 days you revert back to your unit’s C n C, unless CR was extended for 30 days. Good Luck

SGT Cynthia Barnard - Illinois currently. The difference between the job and active duty is that going active duty when I am sent to where I have to go I can live in a barracks or such temporarily until the point comes when my wife and kids are able to join me because they won't be able to do so right away do to stuff on our end not military side. For a job I wouldn't have those accommodations and can't afford to pay for two separate houses so if it is just a full time job it would have to be in the area where I am at. I am near Scoot Air Force base currently.

Your best bet is just go talk to an active duty Air Force recruiter and see what is available. I't can be just as difficult going from the Air Guard to active duty. So you are better off just talking to the AF recruiter first. It all depends on the needs of the Air Force. You may also need to clear some waivers if you have dependents.

MSgt (Join to see) - Thank you. Now I just need to find an Air Force recruiter who will actually talk to me. The closest one to me doesn't like to talk with prior service members. They are only focused on new recruits
