The promotion list goes from DoD to the White House, then to the Senate or confirmation.

Allegedly, the White House told SecDef not to submit the list if Vindman is on it.

What she said:
"IF he is on the promotion list, he must be considered. IF he is on the list, promise you will not remove his name.

That is all she is asking for.

Is his packet going before the board? Yes? Then he is getting consideration.

Seems to me more she is saying “I’m not confirming any officers selected by the board unless he gets promoted”. Sorry that is not your call unless you are a member of the selection board.

SPC Kevin Ford - Kevin, I leave this argument to you. This guy does not know the difference between right-wing spin and facts. I've had enough of his childish name calling and insults.

SGT Dan Gray - Nice claim. Do you want to provide some evidence that happened? I've been looking and I can find no such incident. Saying it is in the Library of Congress is meaningless.

Seems strange that looking at General Brown's history he became a one star, two star and then three star all while Obama was in office.

SGT Dan Gray - That isn't a valid link. I don't think I'll be asking Congress members to verify if something some random person on the internet said is true. :)

I'm kind of hoping they have better things to do.

SGT Dan Gray - As an FYI, I would expect this claim to be very easy to verify if it happened. I can't find anything. If you can't provide evidence that's OK, you made a mistake and we can move on.

If you don't like Obama, that's fine. I have no beef with that, everyone has political opinions.

I was unaware that Congress could stop promotions - I was under the impression that they could only commission. How could one of Congress dominate the rest of the members so badly?

The Senate confirms all Officer promotions. This will not be the first nor the last time the lists are held up. Normally it occurs when someone involved in a controversy is on the list.

MSG Gary Eckert - Thank you. I think when I was active I have been intentionally remiss in my knowledge of congressional duties. I am attempting to correct that but I figure it will take me 100 more years to get current. Just kidding but I do thank yu for the response.
