My recruiter said it doesn't make a difference whether im cleared by a military doctor or civilian doctor to Re enlist with a re code 3 for BH. After searching alot on the forums it seems the opinion of a military doctor carries alot more weight when it comes to clearing me ? am i correct in this assumption ? I still have contact information for the therapist i saw at my last duty station. i have 3 different recruiters willing to put in for the waiver but i know my chances are practically none. Thank You.

Even if you get a civilian sign off, chances are you won’t get the waiver. Behavioral health cases are rarely overlooked due to the chance or relapse.

wow, you have a very unfortunate last name. I could see my Marine Drill Instructors having a field day with your name in boot camp!

SSG (Join to see) - Yep, your name totally fits your personality. Was giving a bit of good natured ribbing about a name, and you turn around and be an A-hole about it. Such a perfect example of the dumbass slogan "An Army of One", because being an ass like that and no one would have your back.

There’s a time and place for joking and a way in which people should go about it, your way was not the right way.CPL Rodney Trotter

Your recruiter can submit paperwork from either a military or a civilian therapist but the MEPS doc will recommend approval or disapproval when the packet goes forward for the waiver. I wouldn’t get my hopes up for an approval for a behavioral health waiver. I can’t imagine a MEPS doctor recommending the approval of that waiver, and even though MEPS doesn’t have the final say, their recommendations carry a lot of weight.

Good luck.

Honestly, I would consider a new career choice. Behavioral Health is a serious consideration and I would be very surprised if the Army signs off on allowing you to return to high stress, potentially triggering environment.

Having said that, I would submit documents from all and any who have been involved in your treatment for this issue. Both civilian and military.
