How long does it take to get an RE-3 waiver for the Army?
First, I'd like to mention this is an update from a previous post I made 9/10 months ago: https://www.rallypoint.com/status-updates/chances-of-getting-back-in-with-re-code-3-epts
Long story short, after getting re code 3 with EPTS I started talking to my airforce recruiter, who later gave up after we waited so long(wasn't denied by the surgeon general, my recruiter just decided it was best to give up on it.) After that I ended up talking to my Army recruiter who agreed to push through with the waiver process. It's been approximately 5 months since I gave him up to date medical records(including recent medical tests to prove I was physically fit) and still we've gotten no word.
Reason I'm asking is because I've heard it should only take 3 months to receive a waiver, so I'm a bit confused on why there's been no reply. Say I've been denied, will they respond? Or will I just be stuck in limbo? What do you guys think? Has something like this happened before?

Dyllan Alford Once I found a recruiter that was willing to push through the fight, it took about 2 years from start to enlistment. I don't know who told you about 3 months for a waiver, but that's bunk, not for an RE-3. If you get denied, they are obligated to tell you...mainly so you stop calling them.
Each one is different. My recruiter knew exactly which dominoes to set up in the exact right spot in order to have them fall at just the right time in order. Went through Air Force Surgeon General to get a waiver to go to MEPS. MEPS cleared me to get a waiver to re-enlist. I had gone to MEPS so many times in St Louis that the docs there recognized me - which is saying something considering how many faces passed before them day in and day out.

Recruiters WANT to make numbers... if they're dragging you along, it's because they don't view you as a viable prospect... Move on, see another branch.

He does not meet the standard based on DODI 6130.03, Ive answered this before. I dont understand why this keeps coming up. The rules are not going to get changed bacause he keeps asking.

MSG (Join to see) - Yeah, I was trying to be polite. I'm close to retirement, so I'm working on the whole "tact" thing... Mixed success..

I've answered this before: see the Dodi 6130.03
i. Current chest wall malformation, including but not limited to pectus excavatum or pectus carinatum which has been symptomatic, interfered with vigorous physical exertion, has been recommended for surgery, or may interfere with wearing military equipment.
does not meet the standard.
EPTS means: existed prior to military service.
You are not getting back in.
