When you read, do you see words in your head, or do pictures form?

I focus on the words, but I do visualize some of the time, especially if it is something that I am familiar with or like.

I hear the words in my head, and I form pictures if the narrative is visually detailed.

Yes,I agree, its the narrative that helps complete the picture and place the live action in the written words.

I also love those Dirk Pitt series from Clive Cussler, I also read anything I can get from Dale Brown, a former Air Force Captain that flew in B52s. The action is quick paced and I can picture the people, the equipment, the weapons, the action, He has that all down pat. A lot of the things i read are in that sort of mode a paint a great action picture with the total narrative not just any individual word. It is a skill.
