Saw a commercial for the Salem's Lot movie this morning. Years ago I was a drill at Ft Leonard Wood, in the row of barracks closest to the housing area. I lived on the end street of housing, so I could walk to work through a small wooded area in under 5 minutes. I was reading the first Stephen King novel I ever read, Salem's Lot. So, I'm walking to work through the woods at zero dark thirty, and that book had me creeped out to where I started looking over my shoulder. For vampires.

Told myself, "You're a drill sergeant. You're in your spit shined boots and your drill sergeant's hat. You are NOT scared of vampires."

Then I looked over my shoulder again.
