How can a Servicemember reclass without reenlisting?

Soldiers can reclassify at any time they are NOT within their reenlistment window, provided they qualify for the MOS the Soldier wants to reclassify into. The Soldier's current MOS must be overstrength (N/Y) and the new MOS must be understrength (Y/N). Certain application MOS' can be applied for at any time, regardless of In and Out-Call requirements. I have personally been able to reclass out of a Balanced MOS and into another Balanced MOS. But those are case-by-case basis. See your BN Career Counselor.

SSG, then, the soldier has to go to AIT again? Do they get a new duty station and does it affect the ETS date? Thanks

SPC (Join to see) - SPC, yes, you will go to the AIT for your new MOS. The good thing about that is that you will be treated better than the IET Soldiers. Upon graduation, you will receive orders to wherever the Army needs you. A reclass won't necessarily affect your ETS date, although a reclass CAN require additional service commitment.

Yes. But your unit has to do the paperwork. my second enlistment I was with 3/5 Cav and reclassified from infantry to Cook. For better job prospects. But I OJT'd as a cook and it was then my secondary MOS, but I worked in my secondary MOS since no cooks were expected for a long time.
