On Thursday, Biden signed an order that will set the maximum number of refugees resettled in the U.S. at 125,000 for Fiscal Year 2021. In Fiscal Year 2020, the Trump administration admitted less than 12,000 refugees as the program was largely halted to slow the spread of the Chinese coronavirus and only emergency cases were processed.
The troubling factor in this article is the “nearly $9 billion” >that’s $9,000,000,000< spent every 5 years on the refugee process. What’s up with that huge tab put upon American taxpayers ?? (Esp since now actual working Americans have seriously dwindled in the past year). Are various agencies and other entities getting a huge financial windfall for helping resettle displaced people into this country every year?
It may be “All about the Benjamins, Baby” to quote that girl, AOC.

I too am concerned about real refugees but the process of acclimation needs fixing and we have to make sure they can become productive citizens.

We need to reform an change our immigration systems and processes. There's too much bureaucracical weight. Too much red tape. What takes years can take months what takes months can take weeks what takes weeks can take days. Uscis is too underfunded to handle everything it takes to process thousands of applications a day or week.
