Can we ALL be Professionals? LET'S RESPECT ONE ANOTHER ALWAYS!

THINK BEFORE YOU RESPOND! THANKS

I've noticed a lot of adverse and derogatory comments made by some of our RP Members lately! When you read some of those comments it's clear those Members are trying to insight anger and/or attack the other individual's intelligence or just plan being unprofessional.

I like RP because the majority of Service Members have been very professional!

What are your thoughts on this topic RP Members?

Will it incite you if I point out the misuse of the homonym in your question? The simple fact is that I have rarely seen anyone deliberately post a comment which is an obvious attempt to incite anger in another. Sadly, some can't stand disagreement, an affliction which seems to occur more frequently among ideologues who lean to the Left. And yes, it also occurs among those who lean to the Right but far less frequently. Now, that premise is going to incite some. Sorry 'bout that, but it is the result of my direct observation having participated in many contentious debates. And no, I'm not going to let up. Too much is at stake. I am a liberty-loving American, an old-school rugged individualist. Like a wild beast, I feel entrapped in an ever diminishing habitat as "progressive civilization" has taken root on the East and West coasts of the continent and spread like a cancer inland. Government has grown exponentially, just in my lifetime and I'm not happy about it. Thus, I am fighting back. I try to be civil about it. Indeed I find myself far more civil than those who oppose me. For example, I have never blocked another in this forum. I have never "unfriended" another on FaceBook. But these things have happened to me. It seems that those who disagree can't handle the truth as I see it whereas I welcome their opposing points of view. I want to learn from them. They obviously don't want to learn from me. So there you have it. Those are my insights...

CPT, I noted you tried to make a claim that it happens on the left mainly. You surely expected a response. I'll just point out that the person who all through the primaries and yet still today did in fact promote and incite violence. He's in the white house.

Oh, Jack, there you go again, trying to be non-provocative, and then using 'ideologue' to describe those of us on the left.

Most of us in this forum are well enough armed with the wits to verbally scorch someone with whom we disagree. But we are, for the most part, mature enough to understand that such tactics do little to promote comity among community. One can use strong language and argue passionately for ones cause, without being malicious.

My philosophy is to disagree without being disagreeable. If we listen with mouth closed and ears open, we can learn from anyone--even an ideologue like me. Ladies and gentlemen, and that's what we in the military should be, can always discuss a matter without throwing crockery around.

There will always be an "issue" with how someone reacts to something they read. There are things we are very passionate about and sometimes that passion can be taken in the wrong direction towards anger. I do think we, as site admins, do our best to keep this type of thing under control as much as possible and deal with those who repeatedly do this type of thing.

SGT Gregory Lawritson - I'm trying to dig up the Code of Conduct. I know it's on here somewhere but I reached out to my fellow 4 star admins asking for the link so I can share with you.

COL Mikel J. Burroughs - And SGT Keens, In my view, it comes down to "Self Control"... Some have "a little", some have "a lot" and a few have "None".

Along with varying levels of "self control", there are also varying levels of other personal traits & much of that varies with experience & the amount of time each individual has on the planet.

Not to mention the "influences" they've had during their respective journeys.

I know some folks in their 40's & 50's that are still not quite "grown-up" yet, conversely I also know 20 somethings that are wise way beyond their years...
Like the man said... it takes all kinds. But we're stuck with 'em the way they are.

It's up the "Adults" among us to "Guide" those who are still "adolescents" in the way they need to go... And what's that Called?
Youse know that as well as I do... It's Called "LEADERSHIP"!

Isn't that what they pay us Senior Non-Coms and O's for?

I am not a very good writer but I think everyone should be professional and respectful in any type of Social Media sites, especially here and LinkedIn since your name and rank/organization are spelled out. I have seen way too much UCMJ actions or employment terminations base on careless and unprofessional Social Media comments. Remember, Uncle Sam (or your COC) and your employers are always watching. Just don't be that guy/gal, it's not worth it.

CPO (Join to see) - It seems you have access to a lot more information than I do. Though if much of what you say is fact, I have to wonder how it is that a Chief Corpsman has access to some of the information you posted.

Like I have to wonder how you can say you've "refuted anything" when all you've really done, as far as I can see is say that some of my assertions are "False". I'm not sure how you can say that with such Surety.

You say Trump isn't in fact a Billionaire, nor has he made his money himself & he's "Stealing money from Taxpayers", Oh & he's already passing laws he doesn't have to follow & makin' policies that line his pockets...

How anyone can know any of that is true... unless they're gettin' inside information some how?

I make the assertions I've made from what I've read in various media on & off the web. If none of it is true, & half of what you say is, well as an old South Korean Friend of mine in the Coast Guard used to say... "We in deep Kimchee Son!"

You may question what I say about the Past President & his Secretary of State... but if your Gut doesn't tell you that those two are despicable, dishonest, less than Honorable human beings, well I don't know what else to say, certainly there's nothing I can say that's going the change you mind.

How you can have knowledge of Mr. Kushner, his "Omissions" & collaborations is certainly way above my Pay Grade, even when I had Top Secret Clearance.

IMHO if we used the Constitution & other founding documents as they were intended, at least as they were described in the Federalist Papers, We would be better off. That's not to say there aren't a few tweaks that could have been or could be made, here & there that could or would have made them work better.

I cannot disagree that the Articles of Confederation were in many ways perhaps "inadequate" or "flawed" to an extent, there were still things that were "useable" shall we say. And you are without a doubt correct that the are many things written in the Amendments & the many Supreme Court Decisions between Then & Now, that could have been done better, but we're dealing with "Humans" here, NOT Omnipotent Beings, though many of them, from that time to this, may have felt of themselves in that way.

The Preamble was a Good Start... It was straight forward, Short & Sweet!

Perhaps the Founders "looked much more positively on immigration..." because there weren't as many people abusing it to the degree they are now & thousands aren't coming here expecting to be provided with food, housing, medical treatment, education at low or no cost and a whole list of other "Freebies"... as many of them are now... Even now, I don't believe anyone begrudges anyone coming here, who is willing to:
- Learn the Language,
- Assimilate,
- Get a Job,
- Work Hard,
- Pay Taxes
- Stay off welfare or other Public Assistance &
- Pay Their Own Way like the rest of us

Slavery was bad & every one that was Christian knew it, but there was a faction among the Farmers & other agricultural types in the south that needed help to work their land & felt that slave labor was the way to do it for minimum cost.

Many people indentured themselves in servitude as a way to get here because that's the only way they could pay for their passage. I guess we can file that under "Where there's a Will, There's a Way"! Indentured Servitude came to an end after a Period of Time... Unfortunately Slavery did not. At least NOT until we fought the Not-so Civil War.

One of the ugliest things that no one no one gets around to talking about with regard to Slavery, is the fact that in a majority of cases, according to the History I've read on the subject, Black People were sold into Slavery largely by their own kind, but White men get blamed for that? Why is that?

Personally, I think there's plenty of Bigotry to go around on the part of all the races, sexes & other factions, White Anglo Saxon Protestant/Christian Males don't have a corner on that Market.

The Declaration of Independence would have been a good place to start with "Fixin' Things" I believe! It would have been better had it said:
"We find these truths to be self-evident that "ALL HUMANS ARE CREATED EQUAL" & Endowed by their Creator with certain inherent & inalienable Rights; that among them are... etc. etc...;

That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among "Humans", deriving their just powers from the consent of the "Governed".

From the outset "Human" & Human-kind should have been used, Instead of "man" & "man-kind" thus including ALL HUMANS, & the Sexes as God created them... MALE & FEMALE, but you & I both know, they were leaning heavily on the Bible & Biblical precepts, as a way of doing things, Due to not only Freedom, but "Freedom of Religion" being one of the Biggest reasons for the People leaving Great Britain & Europe to get away from the over-bearing practices of King George & both the Church of England & the Catholic Church beating them over the head with doctrinal issues many people didn't want to deal with.

By the way, I don't believe I either stated or even intimated, that everything having to do with the FOUNDING DOCUMENTS or the FOUNDERS was PERFECT... THEY... LIKE US WERE ONLY HUMAN and THEREFORE, LESS THAN PERFECT.

AND ALL POLITICAL PARTIES, BEING MADE UP OF HUMANS, ARE ALSO FLAWWED! CAN WE AGREE ON THAT!?

And like I believe I said earlier, I voted for "Mr. T" because I felt that among the choices we had, HE WOULD DO THE LEAST DAMAGE, & I STILL BELIEVE THAT'S THE CASE, as sad a situation as that may be, to my knowledge you weren't running...

You can remedy that in 2020, if you believe you have Superior knowledge or Expertise. We haven't had a former Career Military Man since, Ike, though many of the past Presidents have served at least a tour or two, or been Reservists or like Me a little of Both.

As far as WHO I SUPPORT POLITICALLY, I SUPPORT THOSE POLITICIANS THAT PUT OUR COUNTRY & THE PEOPLE FIRST OVER & ABOVE THEMSELVES & THEM THAT ACTUALLY DO AS THEY SAY THEY'RE GOING TO DO.

YOU MAY BE CORRECT... THAT "MR. T" IS NOT "EQUIPPED" TO DO THE JOB TO THE EXTENT WE'D PREFER... BUT THEN I ASK YOU...WHO IS?

I have not yet read... "THE AMERICA WE DESERVE". Living on a pension I have limited resources, but when it shows up on the sale table at Barnes & Noble or in the used Book store for $5 or $6 I'll pick it up, like I have the rest of the additions to my considerable store of reading material.

And if as you say, HE'S bringing in more people IN FROM OUTSIDE the country to work in his Businesses, last I heard, there are several MILLION "AMERICANS" here abouts, that are without Jobs. Instead of more Immigrants, Why not put "AMERICANS to Work?
I mean I could be wrong but , WAS THAT NOT ONE OF THE THINGS ON HIS LIST OF CAMPAIGN PROMISES!?

Oh, one more thing you MIGHT BE ABLE TO CLEAR UP FOR ME! You went on & on about the MCM & THE LESS THAN PROPER USE OF CELL PHONES, TABLETS ETC.

It's kind of Scary the potential implications such devices have with regard to National Security Concerns in a plethora of areas, I mean for instance, what if some Muslim Sailor got it in his head he was going to go Jihady-Joe on US & got on, Oh say the brand spankin' New Aircraft Carrier, GERALD R. FORD & started taking pictures of sensitive areas of the Ship, it's Systems, Etc. & decided to sell 'em to one of Our many Enemies or Frenemies or God knows who else is libel to be mad at us by this time next month.

How does one deal with a can of worms like that!? Like I Said CPO, I don't envy you in the least for having to deal with any of that malarkey, nor the whole LBGTQ thing, maybe "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" wasn't such a bad Policy after All.
If it were me & I found pictures like that on some Sailors Cell Phone, Tablet, Lap Top or other device, My inclination would be an immediate Court Martial followed by escort to the fantail & using said Sailor as the Target for Weapons Training, that would probably get around the Fleet fairly quickly put the quietus to or at least drastically reduce the frequency of such foolishness.

Some might say we can't use such drastic measures, we not at War... Oh really, Not at War...!? Whether the Majority of folks realize it or Not... We've been at War... Since at least the First Bombing of the Twin-Towers, what year was that? But Most definitely since 9-11...
I guess some aren't going to call it real WAR until the 1st Nuclear Tipped ICBM lands on the West Coast... But then Kim Jung Un or perhaps the Ayatollah, is just Crazy enough to Target St Louis or Dallas - Ft. Worth to make a Point!? Again Chief... I say...Good Luck!
