The seasonal influenza vaccine contains potentially harmful ingredients and last year's flu shot was only 30% effective. If a service member wakes up to the realization that the flu shot is pushed on Americans by Allopathic Doctors because of their daddy Big Pharma and refuses to be part of the steeple, what is the Army going to Do? This will offend many of you but I honestly don't care because perhaps this is the wake up call you need. If you get plenty of sunlight, exercise, and whole food nutrition you will have a sting immune system and not need a flu shot. The government is in bed with Big Pharm and that is why they push the flu shot. Big Pharm runs modern medicine (allopathic doctors). Follow the money. Why would a perfectly healthy person allow a potentially dangerous and ineffective vaccine to be injected into their body with the promise of a 30% success rate? That means 70% will still get the flu.

Having taken the shot for 26 years after ordered to do so or felt compelled to follow instructions I'll give another perspective. The first year after I retired from reserves I didn't get a free shot I ended up in bed sicker than I'd been in decades for 8 days. Then a couple years later when I delayed getting a shot I got the full again.
I get it for free so big pharma logic doesn't work for me. I'll keep getting the shot and 30% it's better than 0

The only year I did not receive a flu shot - I lost 4 days of my life to delirium and got immersed in an ice bath when my temperature went over 105. I haven’t missed a shot in 25 years!!

SFC (Join to see) I agree with LTC John Mohor and LTC (Join to see). The government is not in bed with Big Pharm. The government is trying to keep you healthy. I get the shot each year and if I do get sick, it will not be as bad.

SPC E Cre - I'm 57 and never had the flu. However, I get sick with "flu-like" symptoms and am sick as a dog for 3-4 days every freaking year after the Army forces me to take the flu shot. The only year this didn't happen is the year we got the nasal spray and I faked the sniff and blew that shit out as soon as I got outside. And guess what? didn't get the flu that year either.

LTC (Join to see) - Every year that I took the shot...I got sick. I have been out for 15 years, have not take it since I got out and I have not had it.

SSG Roger Ayscue - every year it's a crap shoot. There are literally hundreds of strains of flu. Did they guess right and pick the strain that's going to be going around? who knows... I'd rather roll the dice and take my chances on getting the flu than take the shot, which is only around 50% effective, and be guaranteed of being sick for 3-4 days.

I have the shingles shot that's only 50% effective. If I get the shingles, I will have rashes and scars and I won't be able to work for weeks because my joints will be offline. There is a new shingle shot that is 90% effective that I'm going to get even if it makes me sick for a couple of days. In my career job or in my Army Career, physical fitness is a must. I'm 56 years of age and I can still run a 15 minute 18 seconds 2 mile run. I can still do 283 points on my APFT. The flu shot is cheap insurance. Sometimes flu virus is morph and become something else either they don't work and you get sick or you get the Spanish flu and millions of people, some in excellent physical shape like me, died within 24 hours do to the body over reacting to the virus and I basically suffocate from my lungs filling up with fluid. This is not farmer trying to use the government to sell millions of pills of fentanyl to Rogue medical people in West Virginia.

Sgt (Join to see) I tried getting it at Fort Sam Houston but they were out of stock. I said the prescription maybe I can check and see if it's available at Madigan Army Medical Center. Do you know if this prescription is valid at a different Medical Center like the VA? I was hoping to get it for free while I was still on Tricare for my two months of active duty. I don't mind paying for it because I know that it would save my life or save my career if I got hit by the shingles.

LTC (Join to see) - I would think that it should be free at the VA. I have moved from the Houston area to Battle Ground, WA. When I go to register at the Vancouver, WA, VA campus, I will enquire about getting the shot. I will also pay if I need to for this important vaccine.

CSM Charles Hayden - I received my super strong flu shot the end of September. We are both waiting on the new Shingles shot. I have known folks that had the shingles and it was no fun for them..
