Lets make this simple.
If you and your family are hungry, or homeless, or impacted by other social determinants of health that impact the first 2-3 of rungs of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, then you can talk about the various topics of the day, and they, for a time will get attention, but in the end if people are not safe or secure they will act in their own best interest to secure for their families the resources they need if they are threatened.
So, are the economy, safety in the streets, good schools, leaders you can trust and neighbors who will have your no matter who you are important the choosing your top three should be no problem!
I don't care if you are black, white, young, old, rich, poor, urban or rural, male, female, gay or straight, when you feel threatened and unsafe you respond. The issue is not that you respond, rather, it is how you respond and if that response is lemming like or someone who has the courage to ask the tough questions and know they can expect real answers.
Bottom line, there will be some single issue voters. Yet, many who will be registered and actually vote will need to be armed with their own intellect and able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
None of the candidates are perfect? Far, far from it. Yet, we will all make a choice for not just one reason, after weighing a lot of reasons. That is called - American Advanced Citizenship. Being able to who can provide the greatest good (aka greatest safety and prosperity for the great number in the most equitable and transparent manner.) Who will provide real change and who is just mouthing the words to pander for votes?

Maslow’s Hierarchy is still being utilized...I studied this as an undergraduate in 1976 at UNC-G.
IMHO, knowledge is going to be imperative with the upcoming election. If you are not knowledgeable about the candidates, their views, policies, strengths and weaknesses; you could be a ‘sheeple’. Certainly hope everyone makes a very informed decision at the polls because this election will definitely impact your life!

I'm just a simple hillbilly from Tennessee (ok, an especially well-travelled one maybe).
I vote because I feel that if one doesn't vote, one cannot viably claim they didn't have a "say". I vote for Republicans because I consider them the lessor of two evils... and I do mean EVIL. I'd love to see someone try for office who has morals, dignity, character, intelligence, and experience... but I can't talk Dad into running. When it comes to government, my "needs" are pretty simple actually... I'd like them to stay uninvolved as much as possible, spend our money wisely, and uphold the Constitution as written; it's in English after all.
