How'd she pull that off? I've always been told 5 years max for spouse ID.

I asked the Army personal ID staff member about when my wife would have an ID that didn't expire. She told me that age of 75 is the point when permanent IDs can be issued to spouses.
My wife's ID expires in 4 years on September 30, 2022

Thank you my friend CPT Scott Sharon. We got a late start and the traffic was slow until we got in Maryland on U.S. 15.
We checked in at the Personal ID desk at Fort Detrick, Maryland at 1525. [1530 is the cutoff for ID staff.] I learned that one pregnant woman had been there since 1300 [the sign said 3 hour wait]. She was called back 1t 1600. I expected we would all be clear by 1630 since that was when the personnel office closed. My wife was notified at 1620 to go to the ID office.
Afterwards we went to the Mountain Gate Restaurant at Thurmont, Maryland. We have been to that restaurant many times. They have Christian-themed placemats and most of the people there are farmers and retired folks. We had a n enjoyable buffet meal with great service. [I also ordered scrapple and home fried potatoes.]
A couple was setting up what looked like a music show. The couple sang gospel songs and I learned they had a few CDS which were appreciated by many of the buffet meal diners behind us who were celebrating a birthday.
