"After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow......Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming.....victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you," Trump wrote in a trio of consecutive tweets.

I'm not going to second guess the President on this issue though if it were up to me, I would have done it a little differently. IMV, it is perfectly ok for transgenders to serve, provided they have completed their gender reassignment, including surgery, prior to entering the service. I am opposed to military members going through gender reassignment while in the service. It is not fair to the taxpayer nor is it conducive to military readiness.

Return the military to it's MAIN and ONLY Purpose. To defend the United States of America by closing with and destroying the enemy.
Gender dysphoria, is a MENTAL CONDITION. If you can not tell that those having a penis are male and those having a vagina are female then return to 6th grade Health class. I care not what you think or feel that you are. Sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't that is why there are Mounds and Almond Joy bars...BUT...while I have been confused about what candy bar to eat, I have never been confused the GOD ALMIGHTY made me a boy and made my wife a girl ( I have an outtie and she has a innie)

Our numbers will drop since trans people twice as likely to be in the military
Not speaking for anyone but we cover most of our medical costs privately
I've experienced all kinds of hate from the right and evangelicals alike while growing up if anything it made me stronger mentally
I went on to start my journey knowing my family will cese contact know I am a walking Target 5'1 and have a beard as a grown man though 23 my body is still changing
I am not mentally ill waiting for my gentic testing to come back
Was depressed once know I will lose my family and our world is full of hate
Now stronger than ever mentally and physically I am willing to fight to protect our freedoms that are being threatened by our own government at the moment love America not it's leaders at the moment

God bless you, but it doesn't look like you are going to be accepted.
If it makes you feel any better, I would also love to get back in - but at 72 I would never pass the physical requirements and my meds to keep me alive are more than the military would be willing to spend when young and healthy recruits without any of my issues are available.
