After switching from TPU to AGR, is there anyway that I will be able to be promoted as a 13B in a 00G position?

I’m in the process of switching from TPU to AGR. I have 12 years in, about 8 AFS and two years TIG. I am a 13B in a 00G position and will be going through recruiter school in 2.5 years.
I was told by HRC and multiple other AGR soldiers that I will not be able to get promoted due to not having a MOS in the AGR system. I was told the same when I joined the USAR but I’ve been promoted twice.
Is there anyway that I will be able to be promoted in the AGR or should I just get used to being a SFC for the next three or so years?

A couple 11B’s just made the 8 list. Not sure why you couldn’t get promoted.

To be honest I’m amazed that you were able to keep that MOS this long in the Reserves. I was a 13F and when I switched to the Reserves I was forced to change my MOS. And the fact that you were able to get to E7 in that MOS is crazy as well.

You may be one of a very very few 13B’s but I don’t see why you couldn’t get promoted into a 00G slot.
I’ll keep digging and I’ll be sure to update this as I get further along and hopefully get more favorable answers.
